- Age Limit for Inspector: 18 to 30 Years
- Age Limit for Tax Asst: 18 to 27 Years
- Age Limit for MTS: 18 to 25 Years
- Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.
- For Inspector: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
- For Tax Asst: Bachelor’s Degree and Data Entry speed
of 8000 key depressions per hour. - For MTS: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized University/Board.

Note:
i. The candidate must have attained the stipulated age as on
01.08.2021.
ii. The upper age limit is relaxed up to a maximum of 5 years for Unreserved/OBC candidates, 10 years in the case of SC/ST candidates, as per DoP&T O.M. No.15012/3/84-Estt.(D) dated 12.11.1987.
iii. Departmental candidates with three years continuous service in Central Government can apply up to an age of 40 years (45 years for SC/ST).
iv. Candidates who have appeared at a qualifying examination or deemed to have appeared, the passing of which would render them educationally qualified to apply for this recruitment but have not been informed of the result can also apply. Such candidates will be required to produce proof of passing the requisite qualifying examination at the time of Document Verification or Ground/Proficiency Test, failing which such candidates will not be considered for further selection process.
v. The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Note:
a. For the disciplines mentioned at Sr. No. 17 to 22, only male players can apply. For other disciplines, both male and female players can apply.
b. In case suitable candidates are not available in any of the above Disciplines, the Department will reserve its right not to consider such discipline and allot the vacancies reserved for such discipline to any of the remaining disciplines in the above list.
3. SPORTS ELIGIBILITY:
Appointments will be made of sportspersons considered meritorious with reference to the following criteria:
i. Sportsmen who have represented a State or the country in the National or International competition in any of the games/sports mentioned in para 2.
ii. Sportsmen who have represented their University in the Inter- University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Boards in any of the sports/games mentioned in para 2.
iii. Sportsmen who have represented the State School Teams in the National Sports/games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation in any of the games/sports mentioned in para 2.
iv. Sportsmen who have been awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under the National Physical Efficiency Drive.

5. INSTRUCTIONS AND TERMS & CONDITIONS
i. Candidates should read the below mentioned terms & conditions and instructions carefully before filing up the online form.
ii. Only one application should be submitted by the candidate. If any candidate submits more than one application, such applications will be summarily rejected.
iii. The applicant should clearly indicate the post in the online application form to which he/she is applying along with the order of preference in which he/she wishes to be considered for the said posts. Failure to
indicate the post(s) will make his/her application liable for rejection without any further correspondence.
iv. The applicant should upload along with the application, the under mentioned forms duly filled up and signed by the respective sports authorities as mentioned in para 4 of these instructions.
a. Form 1 for representing India in an International competition.
b. Form 2 for representing a State in a National competition.
c. Form 3 for representing a University in an Inter-University competition conducted by Association of Indian Universities/Inter-University Sports Board.
d. Form 4 for representing the State School Team in National Games for School conducted by the All India School Games Federation.
e. Form 5 for awards in physical efficiency performance drive conducted by the Ministry of Education and Social Welfare.
v. Forms 1/2/3/4/5 can be downloaded from the website. Legible scanned copies of these forms, duly filled up and signed by the respective sports authorities as mentioned in para 4 of these instructions, should be uploaded with the application form. Failure to upload legible scanned copies of these forms will make the application liable for rejection.
6. SELECTION OF THE CANDIDATES
6.1 The applications will be scrutinized and suitable candidates will be shortlisted for further selection process. For selection, the short listed candidates will be required to appear for document verification and if further required, the candidates may also be required to undergo ground/proficiency test.
6.2 Success in the above test confers no right to appointment unless the department is satisfied after such enquiry as may be considered necessary that the candidate is suitable in all respects for appointment to the post.
6.3 In case suitable candidates are not available in any of the sports disciplines mentioned in para 2, the Income-tax Department, Mumbai, reserves the right not to consider such sports disciplines.
6.4 In respect of appointment to the post of Tax Assistant, the candidates are also required to qualify in the Computer Skill Test as prescribed in the Recruitment Rules.
7. The applicant will be required to produce the following certificates in
ORIGINAL at the time of document verification.
i. Relevant Sports MERIT Certificate/Participation Certificate
ii. Forms 1/2/3/4/5 (as applicable) duly signed by the prescribed authorities mentioned in para 4
iii. Matriculation/SSC or equivalent certificate for proof of age
iv. Certificate for Educational qualification
v. Caste/Community Certificate in support of claim for age relaxation
vi. Aadhar Card/PAN Card/Voter ID Card/Driving License or any other Government issued ID proof
vii. Address proof
8. Sports achievements certified by authorities other than those recognized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs shall not be considered.
9. Sportspersons who are already employed by the Central Government or the State Government or a PSU should bring an NOC from their present employer at the time of Document Verification.
10. The selected candidates will be liable to be posted anywhere in the Mumbai region. The selected candidates will be on probation for 2 years or such period as per the extant instructions of the Government of India. His/her participation in the tournament/meets on behalf of the Department will also be a deciding factor in the declaration of his/her probation. The selected candidates will be required to sign an undertaking that he/she would not seek inter charge transfer for a period of 10 years.
11. Any form of canvassing by any candidate will render his/her candidature to be rejected summarily at any stage of the recruitment process.
